You might want to take a much closer look at the defining undertow. No, it's not capitalism, nor our use of money. It's far more foundational than that. But a warning, you might not like what you see because it will challenge most of the paradigms you now live by and that construct your identity.

If you peel all the layers off that don't hold up to closer scrutiny, Derrick Jensen (Endgame) is one of the rare ones I've found that holds its ground firmly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAuqjzYPx9Y

A solid bedrock from which we can start to rebuild what it is to be human and an integral part of an ecosystem. (which is super difficult in fact, a multi-generational mega challenge. Think watersheds, nutrient cycles, energy, knowledge development and dissemination, etc. A reality show on steroids.)

All tinkering on our current systems, (like, I'm truly sorry to say this, urban farming, CO2 capture, etc), is simply a diversion. Ultimately wil get us nowhere, as they can never be sustainable, so a waste of time, or at best, only help to soften the fall.

It won't be easy, but it could be a hell of a lot of fun!
