You don't seem to realise that it's predominantly the Russians who saved Europe from the Nazis. Not the US.
What you perhaps don't quite fully comprehend is the extent to which the massive post-war US propaganda actively brainwashed the Western public. It fed us a very distorted and inflated version of history. As god forbid, "we" can't have the communists claiming their fair share in this victory. This narrative had to be owned by the West. We are the only good guys...
The thing is, the Russians haven't forgotten who the enemy was and how much they had to sacrifice to kick these Nazis out. Knowing her history a bit, it's quite sad to see that with the help of the Ukraine forces which "incorporated" the entire Azov Battalion, the US currently backing hard-core neo-Nazi militia to once again invade Russia, in the Belgorod region.
Reinforcing Russia's and the UN's reports and claims that before the war the Ukraine government did nothing to stop these and their own neo-Nazis' reigning terror in the Donetsk region.
