What you are proposing is a non-choice.
Our Western industrial societies are radically based on the exploitation of everything by means of a relentless process of capitalisation. The logical result is that we have become more and more alienated from our physical and natural reality whilst being socially atomised (= easier to exploit to a maximum and then to be discarded without collective protest).
These drivers and their sad outcomes have, for decades, been correctly predicted and well-documented by many writers, social scientists and philosophers. It certainly didn't happen by chance.
