You are forgetting the European perspective.
Nato's antiquated role is to "keep the Russians out, the Americans in, and the Germans (now Europeans) down"– to quote Nato’s first Secretary General, Lord Ismay.
Keep the Europeans down ... It's time to end that.
Former French PM General de Gaulle knew it (it's why the CIA helped to try and kill him), Gorbachev, Putin, Macron and today more and more political scientists and intellectuals from all over Europe are openly saying it. Even (some) Americans and Chinese see it.**
If left unchecked, in the for seeble future Nato will lead to the destruction of Europe.
