Yes, famine too will do the trick of population reduction - but in a much less kind manner than if done voluntarily. Strange that XR isn't propagating it. As it's the only policy that actually will get some results, perhaps not all too late (let's remain a bit optimistic:) One thing is for sure, all the rest simply won't. As anthropologist Joseph Henrich, stated....evolution has effectively rooted rationality out of our human genes.

It's why I bought 4ha of good unpolluted land with its own water source, situated at a safe distance from the coast, not lower than 50 degrees Latitude and currently setting it up for agroforestry. Yes, for what it's worth, I've tried to hedge my options, because I too judge the chances that all of a sudden it all can go South quickly are certainly not zero. One thing is then sure, you don't want to be living in a city when it happens.
