wow, that example is sooo off the mark....wood is biobased and the co2 it emits is carbon captured. Now take your average rich kid...he/she/it takes the plane each year to travel thousands of miles to be continuously mechanically pulled up a mountain slope in a super expensive ski gear that he, she or it will only wear for 2 weeks of the year to stay in an apartment that is hardly or even not used the rest of the year......Do you really want more bored rich people on this earth? Beware of what you wish for.

The real issue with poverty is procreation. They need more kids to service their retirement than we do. Nowadays most of these kids survive so more mouths to feed. Rich people can do fine with non or just one offspring.

Paying people to not have kids is the far smarter solution for a more sustainable world.
