What is missing in the article are:

- why would you want to invest societal resources and human talent into developing this?

- what are the meta consequences of this technology?

Does this not simply give the chemical industry the perfect excuse to keep business as usual and continue producing fossil fuel-based plastics?

To limit their ambition to "less bad" instead of aiming for "good".

Would it not be far more effective to simply incinerate all that old (and very mixed) plastic and rather invest societal resources and human talent - you :) - into developing the new paradigm solutions?
