Using Roger's Diffusion of Innovations, it puts Musk in the Early Adopter category. As a nerd, I have never found Musk the least bit interesting. I don't understand what all the fuss is about.

Personally, I'm far more interested in the 2,5%. The outliers, the radical and unthinkable innovators, to use the Overton Window terminology. The first time EV at last managed to capture my fascination was with Aptera. https://aptera.us/ 600kg 1000-mile on a single battery charge + 40-mile daily commute 100% on solar - if you live in California:) A car with the lowest drag coefficient ever built. https://electrek.co/2023/07/12/aptera-anticipates-lowest-drag-coefficient-of-any-car-ever-in-wind-tunnel-testing/ Now that's a game changer. Not the 2500kg, 270-350 mile range poor performance and overly expensive Tesla gives us.

There are more truly great inventors out there. But that means upgrading our understanding of science to actually be able to see the difference.

My 3 continents, 5 countries youth deconstructed most cultural lock-ins and social biases. It opened my mind to parallel views and fundamental innovations.
