The one-child policy effectively got China out of dire poverty and hunger. Fewer mouths to feed freed economical means to put to far better use.
Anybody who has followed history closely knows that a shortage of people has never hurt an economy. On the contrary, it has and will always be a motor for innovation.
But I suppose radical Christians take offence to this modern view. The more hungry dying souls on the way to heaven the better. I'm just glad the Chinees are much smarter than that and have saved millions from this misery.
