The irony is that the rationale behind this is exactly what you are proposing not to do: tribalism on steroids. Uniting behind a shared fear of a new, mega unknown, outsider.

"Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us." Calvin and Hobbes

So no, we must clean up our own house before inviting any guests.

The best start is by showing restraint. By not repeating non and half-truths (like I'm sadly also reading here) and engaging in open constructive dialogue. Which starts by understanding the multiple views by reading multiple sources Also those outside the mainstream approved narrative. - like the multiple authors writing on https://scheerpost.com/ and John-Leake's substack https://substack.com/profile/106297185-john-leake).

Instead of exporting the mentality that creates and trashes space junk onto the universe, we ought to first start learning how to navigate our own human complexity intelligently.

My 3 continents, 5 countries youth deconstructed most cultural lock-ins and social biases. It opened my mind to parallel views and fundamental innovations.
