The problem is that the good leave because they can't stand what is happening precisely because they care. There is only so much fight we can put up. The ones that survive these environments are those that simply stopped caring (or never cared in the first place).

Over the 15 years I worked at uni I've watched students become numbers, education a marketable product and when teaching was reduced to nothing more than a bureaucratical procedure I quit.
