That you are expecting too much from humans.:) We are simply herd animals. Sit in a field, watch cows living only in the moment, showing lots of passive-aggressive, power-position-petty and all sorts of submissive behaviours. Exactly us in family, school and work settings.

So perhaps the following alternative explanation might interest you>

That fits in with what Prof. T. W. Murphy points out* (my summary) that only 10% of humanity consists of logical abstract thinkers (MyerBriggs NT profiles). The rest, the vast majority (the ST-SF gene pool) , are primarily sentients. Extremely short-term-minded -seeing & feeling-is-beliving beings.
