That was in 1964 with a population of 720.000....now it's around 1.300.000 and growing.....

Mauritius should start by limiting the size of her own population to the carrying capacity of her island instead of simply wanting to export her problem and exploitation greed by colonising her surroundings.

Which, by the way, with the expected sea-level rise and thousands stuck on these atolls, is just another human-made disaster in the making.

So give the islands back to the families of the formally deported and let them collectively decide which future they want for it. If they want to become a Mauritian colony, well then so be it, history simply repeats herself and nothing is learnt. And another island will be destroyed. Human sharks win, nature sharks lose, again.
