Thanks for your reply. I realise that I was not precise enough. Those 3400 (not 3500, sorry) unexplained deaths were deaths that fell outside of the statistical bandwidth of the normally expected death rate for that period.

Your usual number of cardiovascular deaths as wel as the usual set of unexplained deaths are already included in these expected numbers and uncertainty bandwidth. Meaning that those 3400 deaths fell well outside the expected numbers and margin.

https://www.cbs.nl/nl-nl/nieuws/2022/25/oversterfte-in-tweede-helft-2021-hoger-dan-covid-19-sterfte Excess deaths over the months of Augustus 2021- December 2021 were 11,300 of which 7,900 were attributed to COVID-19 leaving 3400 death unsolved.

Also good to know that the data collected by our CDC was not done very neatly. Deaths were eagerly attributed to Covid without thorough casefile studies let alone autopsies to confirm the findings with more certainty. Forensic probability and statistics professor Ronald Meester offered to do a thorough research on the data and its quality but was refused. Raising the question of why.

In all, I see no effort from our governments to really want to get to the bottom of this. Normally one would have expected the exact opposite. To learn and do better next time. Doing nothing, worse, frustrating critical initiatives is not helpful. Is it because they want to avoid the political and liability implications?
