Thank you for writing this (much needed) answer. Indeed and what makes it very interesting is what happens next.. What happens to the hegemony (of the US dollar and world stability) when the US retreat to their “splendid” isolation? Will the world become divided into new power blocks? As a European I am very curious where that will leave us. I’d love to hear your opinion on this.
