So why not the best solution for all Europeans..EU out of NATO, sets up her OWN defense force at last, Russia can relax and leave Ukraine (and even claim some sort of victory if they need it) , deputed regions given room to make their own decisions (like under Minsk 2). Russia and Europe spend the money they would be spending on war to help Ukraine rebuild, the EU sets up decent trade agreements with ALL European countries. Setting the tone for a prosperous and peaceful future from from "the Atlantic to the Urals", "from Lisbon to Vladivostok". Build trust.
