The only growth we do need to curb above all else is population growth. The post-fossil fuel world economy can only support roughly 1/4-1/5 of our current numbers and it's getting worse by the second. We must expect mass starvation soon in East and West Africa and parts of India. Many millions, including in the West if we don't plan effectively, will die these horrible deaths until the numbers finally match the carrying capacities of the various lands.
