Research into self-driving cars has been running for decades. Now almost every car company is in, including those in China. Musk is just one of many in that field. Haven't seen any in-house developed outstanding market-defining performances there yet. In the long run, Tesla will mainly be remembered for their charging plug standard, until that too gets changed.

As for the Model 3 at 4 miles/kWh, Aptera's target is 2,5 x better at 10 miles/kWh. For every good innovation, there is a moment when society is ready for it. I guess that the world is now ready for Aptera's extremely sustainable and ultra-performance. But feel free to miss that boat :)

And ps, the great promise of autonomous driving is that owning a car in all cities will become obnoxious (or most likely even forbidden), as cars are idle 95% of the time and are a massive waste of urban space, material resources and money. Cars in cities will become public transport 2.0.

My 3 continents, 5 countries youth deconstructed most cultural lock-ins and social biases. It opened my mind to parallel views and fundamental innovations.
