Like all resources, human brainpower has always been in servitude of power. Also, remember that most minds are embedded and developed under very specific social structures. So very much locked-in, with quite limited programming (the reality for most, aka the masses).
That is why innovators and radical thinkers often originate from or are rooted well outside these existing frameworks. (immigrants, Asperger, etc). Human herd instinct is to close ranks out of preservation so anyone who challenges the societal status quo is automatically persecuted and marginalised. It also means that the more we globally converge towards uniformity the rarer and more difficult dissonance will become.
The question we should ask is do these inherited power structures still help our evolution as a species in achieving a good life and long-term survival? Or are we simply hard wired to follow our unfolding programming until we collapse and rewire (aka natural selection). >
