I'm in the acceptance phase. Instead of still trying to get others on board I am simply taking concrete measures for those dear to me. (I've hedged my options - even if it is only sub optimal at best) It calms my feeling of panic. With that out of the way, I once more can see clearly and in perspective. Even with some bemusement.
Take insurance. The chance your house burns down is of a magnitude smaller than the odds you will be negatively affected by climate change. Yet you will always insure yourself first, but not for the latter. So are you currently under or overinsured?
The real painful issues will arise later on, once things start to go bad. Are you prepared to shut the door on the others, now trying frantically to escape? That's the real tough question.
