If satellites guide missiles then automatically they become legitimate targets. I'm sure that it's the first thing the US will try and destroy if Russia or one day China attacked them. Regardless of the costs to others.

Strategically it would be quite a smart for the Russians to do because all the US smart weapons then become quite dumb:)
