I think you are missing the obvious...Irland knows only too well what brutal suppression of national identity means. 800 years of British brutal rule and naked exploitation have embedded a fundamental understanding and loathing of violent domination over any people's sovereignty.

The parallels between the historic UK's behaviour towards the Irish and the Israeli towards the Palestinians are painfully obvious. You don't have to like the Islam religion perse to be able to understand the suffering the Palestinians have systematically been put through for the last half-century.

And again the British played here a dirty role, I guess that they were only too happy to dump the WOII survivors as far away from Britain as possible. Like they are again doing today by dumping their refugees in Rwanda. The collective West tried to buy off their guilt of the Holocaust by sacrificing the Palestinians. Not wanting to openly admit this deep injustice is the main cognitive dissonance driving the West's continued support for Israel's systematic crimes against humanity. The Arabs are justified to loath us for our tremendous hypocrisy.

My 3 continents, 5 countries youth deconstructed most cultural lock-ins and social biases. It opened my mind to parallel views and fundamental innovations.
