I think you are forgetting one dimension. The Ukrainians are stuck in one place and are therefore extremely vulnerable. The Russians have a vast hinterland to supply them (if they get their logistics up to par). In the middle ages, it was called a siege. Cut off all the infrastructure that supplies clean water, food, air (smoke), supplies and then simply wait. Why waste money on more bombs and lots of ground troops when you can let time do your dirty work. So no, I don't think the end is quite yet in sight.

So it's time to look at the bigger picture. The Russians take offence to the US presence so near to their borders. Just like the US does with the Russian presence in Cuba. So the solution is simple. The US troops leave the EU, the EU, at last, gets her own army and leaves NATO. Problem solved.

That is except for the US. They now have a real problem. Now please ask yourself why that is. Perhaps because then door is then wide open for a united Europe. One spanning from Lisbon to Vladivostok. That would put United Europe at the centre of global power and immediately end the hegemony of the US dollar. Auw.

So its far better for the US to nudge the Europeans into destroying themsleves than them becoming powerful. That is exactly how presidents Bidens remark must be read: a call for war, not in his back yard. Lets just hope Europe is smart enought not to fall into that trap.
