I think that your reference to the 2nd law is slightly mistaken. Earth is NOT an isolated system as there is a constant input of solar energy. Thereby making the continuous reversal of processes possible.

In the near future, I expect mankind will also mine the universe — hence even expand our system’s physical boundaries.
