Hmm, the problem here seems to be about our cultural misappropriation of scientific language inspired by our political human in-out group social manipulations. (just like our political popular usages of words like "degrowth" and "circular" economy, etc which too are cut lose from the reality of the physical world). Not very helpful.
Because from a technical point of view, in physics, binary options are very real and omnipresent. Be it the covalent bonding of chemicals or the binary switches defining our data. Nothing ambiguous here as our life simply depends on it.
