Hmm, actually it is very much "Europe’s job to make Russia feel more secure". It's the cornerstone of every relationship. Take the Germany-France example.

We all know that a good relationship brings with it prosperity instead of the misery Europe's poor and middle classes will now be facing as NATO's lush military-industrial complex spending and its ineffective sanctions drag us down. Re-opening the door to ugly nationalisme.

In the coming post-fossil-fuel era, but also in her transition phase Europe needs this economic link with Russia badly. But we can do fine without the UK and US and their want for war to safeguard their US Anglo economical hegemony. It's over.

It's time to be realistic about the future and a bit less self-conceited about our place in it or we will wake up on the very wrong side of history.
