For a number of years I followed nude model drawing classes. We were presented all types of people, all ages, all genders, all body types and I remember vividly that physical beauty or even youth is zero guarantee for making a worth while drawing.

In drawing you let your hand run intuitively following what you sense, the vibe you subconsciously pickup, the curiosity your pencil leads you to explores and I remember the infuriating sense once or twice of feeling nothing. Like repeatedly hitting into a brick wall. Yet everything about one particular model I remember screamed 100% classical Adonis. But it repeatedly felt like I was drawing an empty shell, a void....as if there was no person under the thin layer of skin presented to us. A super strange sensation but also kind of deeply sad. It forever changed my view on superficial, socially codified, beauty.

My 3 continents, 5 countries youth deconstructed most cultural lock-ins and social biases. It opened my mind to parallel views and fundamental innovations.
