Nobody has ever challenged his version. So that leaves me wondering whether he is right. As it wouldn't be the first time the status quo, with all its vested and petty interests (like funding and political power games), has got it wrong.

And yes, with peak fossil fuel approaching I too am all for renewables. Unlike most, I actually do walk the talk (built my own zero energy bio-based home, don't own a car and invest in renewables), but please for the correct reasons and set on the correct timeline.
